Providence is calling a Registered Dietitian ( Food and Nutrition Services , Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE/on-call) to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will:
Supports the Performance Improvement process.
Follows and supports hospital policies. Follows the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Patient-Care Positions: Considers individual needs in communication with, assessment of, and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects to include infant through the elderly.
Supports patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Regular and predictable attendance is required for all positions. Failure to meet this standard can result in progressive discipline up to and including termination.
Assists the manager/consultant dietitian in assuring that policies and practices are developed and implemented in accordance with standards set forth by the JCAHO, Department of Health (DOH), and other regulatory agencies.
Provides consultation to allied professional health workers regarding diet and nutrition problems and management, including patient care plans and case reviews.
Assists in providing in service education to the staff of the hospital regarding food service operation and general nutritional care of patients.
Provides dietary consultation to any patient (in-patient or out-patient) in the hospital in accordance with the physician’s orders.
Provides counseling to patients, staff, and family with regard to the patient’s nutritional needs.
Charts nutritional information in accordance with the policies of the hospital and accepted professional practice.
Makes appropriate referrals for continuing nutritional care.
Assists in developing and updating the policy and procedure manual concerned with dietary services.
Assists in the development and implementation of a nutritional care system to provide timely inpatient assessments.
Presents community nutrition programs as a representative of the hospital as agreed upon by the consultant, Educational Services Director, and administration.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Sufficient for license/registration
Maintains current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the American Dietetic Association
Maintains certification as a Certified Dietitian in the State of Washington
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Certification as a Diabetes Educator preferred.
