Providence is calling a Physical Therapist (Physical Therapy, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Support the Performance Improvement process.
Follow and support hospital policies. Follows the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments and Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Patient-Care Positions: Consider individual needs in communication with, assessment of, and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects to include infant through the elderly.
Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Regular and predictable attendance is required for all positions. Failure to meet this standard can result in progressive discipline up to and including termination.
Plan patient goals and treatment procedures according to the results of an initial evaluation.
Prepare initial evaluations and subsequent progress notes of patients treated in accordance with departmental policies regarding frequency and content.
Evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, pulmonary, or cardiovascular injuries or conditions.
Evaluate patient's progress and response to treatment and discusses with the appropriate physician as indicated.
Report all urgent matters and observations to the Manager and consults the Manager, if possible, before implementing specific plan of action.
Counsel with patients and their families whenever possible regarding objectives and methods of treatment. Whenever indicated, develops and explains a home program to the patient and his/her family.
In the event that the Manager is not available for a short time, the therapist assumes whatever leadership is necessary until they return.
Participate in peer review to assess and constructively critique skills and documentation of fellow therapists.
Maintain a good working relationship with physicians, nursing service, and other health care personnel.
Coordinate patients' treatment programs with other health care services, including appropriate referrals for home care.
Maintain familiarity with the ordering of patient equipment.
Maintain daily documentation of treatment, uses notes to indicate patient progress, and provides re-evaluations at least on a monthly basis.
Follow treatment protocol established within the Rehab Services Department and adapts them to individual patient needs. Is familiar with the goals for the rotation to which assigned.
Report equipment malfunctions to the Manager or Assistant Manager.
Participate in team meetings and reports on physical therapy aspects of each patient's progress in a concise and clear manner.
Demonstrate a personal desire to gain new skills, techniques, and increased knowledge base through self study, attending in-service education lectures, seminars, and conferences related to physical therapy and participation in a professional organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program to become eligible for licensure
Currently licensed in the State of Washington as a Physical Therapist
