Providence Health & Services Medical Laboratory Technician in Colville, Washington
Providence is calling a Medical Laboratory Technician ( Clinical Laboratory Services , Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will:
Float between Providence St. Joseph's Hospital and Providence Mt. Carmel Hospital
Perform laboratory analysis in coordination with other lab personnel according to establishes procedures.
Performs Quality Control as necessary. Participates to ensure Quality Assurance, safety, infection control, inventory, and other activities associated with the laboratory are fulfilled.
Coordinates and performs laboratory tests; interprets physician orders; obtains samples (including phlebotomy) and checks sample integrity; monitors instrument performance; performs analysis; evaluates results and reports results to clients.
Provides liaison services between physicians, medical offices and laboratory personnel in other organizations, which involves responding to questions about test procedures and/or alternatives and reporting test results and exceptions.
Monitors and controls designated laboratory activities, which includes overseeing day-to-day concerns, responding to complaints and inquiries, and analyzing reports and related information.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Medical Lab Tech with National Certification (ASCP) or equivalent
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in medical laboratory in a medium to high complexity laboratory
Working knowledge of computer application software and LIS (Laboratory Information System).
