Providence Health & Services Manager of Food Services in Colville, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager of Food Services ( Food and Nutrition Services , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, Washington. In this position you will:
Accepts and supports the mission and values of Mount Carmel Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Supports the Performance Improvement process.
Follows policies related to work attendance and dress code.
Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Considers individual needs in communication with patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include all ages.
Supports patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments & Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
As a Preceptor, provides initial job training and information to the orientees and assesses their ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
Accepts responsibility for demonstrating effective leadership behaviors and for proper functioning of the department.
Maintains a customer-focused attitude through a spirit of cooperation, pleasant and respectful demeanor and helpfulness to all with whom they come in contact.
Directs and coordinates the daily activities of the department, with assistance from supervisors and dietitians, carrying out the department’s established policies. These include: patient care programs, purchasing, production, safety, sanitation, clerical activities, personnel orientation, in-service education, scheduling of staff, coordinating and integrating any interdepartmental policies with the appropriate department directors.
Coordinates and integrates clinical nutrition with the administrative aspects of the department.
Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide patient care and services and to assess personnel qualifications and competence.
Provides orientation, in-service and continuing education for all personnel in the department.
Maintains the standards for the following agencies: Mount Carmel Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, local board of health, state board of health, and JCAHO.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent educ/experience
Operations experience at the managerial/supervisory level. Preferred field of expertise: foods, nutrition or food service administration.
